Indian market is waiting for introduction of the much-hyped Tesla in the Indian market. Nitin Gadkari (Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India), announced that American company Tesla will be launching their cars in India in 2021, Elon Musk had indicated the same earlier in 2020 via Twitter. Most of the people not be knowing that Tesla already launched its Cars in Nepal in 2020.
Tesla is expected to launch 5 cars in the year 2021-2022 (as per motoroctane.com news) –
Tesla Model 3 – Rs. 60.00 Lakh
Offered in three electric power train options: Standard Plus (efficiency of 423km), Long Range (568km) and Performance (507km).
The top-spec Performance variant does a 0-97 km/hr sprint in 3.1 seconds with a top speed of 261 km/hr.
Tesla Model S – Rs. 1.50 Crore
There are three variants on offer – 75D, 100D and P100D.
All three get a single-speed gearbox and all-wheel drive as standard.
The 75D boasts a 75 kWh battery pack that gives it a range of up to 489km, a top speed of 225kmph.
Tesla Model X – Rs. 2.00 Crore
The X is also available in three variants – 75D, 100D and P100D.
The P100D of this modal also features the performance motor that makes it one of the quickest and fastest crossovers in the world.
The 75D can run for 417km on a full charge, reach a top speed of 209kmph and hit 100kmph from a standstill in 4.9 seconds.
Mercedes is expected to launch its most awaited long wheelbase Mercedes-Benz E-class, which was supposed to be launched in 2020 but due to Covid-19 crises and lockdown it got postponed
As per autocarindia.com – The E-class LWB’s wheelbase is 140mm longer than the standard model, which measures in at 2,939mm. The long wheelbase version is also slightly longer overall, but is of the same width and height.
It features the new headlight and bumper design, along with a wider three-slat chrome grille and chrome surrounds on the fog light clusters. Sportier versions of the E-class facelift get a sunken, mesh-like grille with the Mercedes logo in the centre.
The E-class on sale right now comes in following price range, however there’s also the E-class All-Terrain E 220d 4Matic (Rs 77.25 lakh) available in the India line-up.
E 200 (Rs 59.08-63.30 lakh),
E 220d (Rs 60.10-64.32 lakh)
E 350d (Rs 75.06 lakh) form.
As per zigwheels.com BMW is expected to launch 7 cars in the year 2021-2022. BMW 5 Series 2021, BMW i3 and BMW M3 are launching soon in India at an estimated price of Rs. 57.00 Lakh, Rs. 1.00 Crore and Rs. 1.15 Crore, respectively.
BMW 5 Series 2021 – All the engines will come paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission system.
There would be a choice between 3 different engines; a 2.0L Turbo-petrol, a 3.0L Turbo-petrol hybrid, and a 4.4L Twin-Turbo V8 petrol.
The 2.0L engine will generate 248Ps of power along with 258Nm of torque while the 3.0L engine is set to offer 335Ps of power with 332Nm of torque.
The 4.4L V8 engine is expected to produce an impressive 523Ps of power with 553Nm of torque.
BMW 2 Series – BMW has announced that the 2 Series will be made available as a coupe as well as a convertible and named 230i and M240i respectively.
The 230i will house a BSVI-compliant 2.0L Turbocharged petrol engine capable of generating 248Ps of power and 258Nm of torque.
M240i will get a BSVI-compliant 3.0L In-Line Turbocharged petrol engine that will produce 335Ps of power along with 369Nm of torque.
Both the models will come with an 8-speed automatic gearbox; the M340i will have the option for a 6-speed manual transmission as well.
